Australia
Приєднався 11 тра 2020
As of today (10/07/2023) our lives have changed forever for we are now officially grey nomads which brings the freedom to travel when and where we like. No longer will we be running our trips to a scheduled date of return to go back to work. With so many trips in the pipeline, we are looking forward to our adventures around Australia.
Our videos are all about the locations that we go to and not about us, for this reason alone you will not see us in front of the camera very much at all.
If you wish, you can also have a look at our videos that show some of the things that we have done to our caravan & tow vehicle that make life just that bit easier when out and about.
Fresh content will be uploaded every second Friday afternoon at 5:00pm South Australian time or more often when we are out traveling.

Looks like king William St at 5pm 😅 thanks for your videos though, getting lot of valuable info
Glad you are getting something from the video👍
Stop posting this rubbish
Thoroughly enjoyed your informative trip around Tassie. Thank you for sharing. And to top it off, the breakdown costs that you provided. May i ask, how many kilometers in (approximate) total?
While on Tasmania, we covered a total of 4,134kms. The entire trip was 7,745kms which was Adelaide - Tasmania - Adelaide.
Thanks for the great info guys, hoping to get down there in the not too distant future 😀
Our pleasure, it is a great place to visit with all of it's free & low cost campsites.
Thanks for such an informative video. Really appreciate the content.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Tasmania sucks! Don’t go there. The people are hostile and dumb, and the prices are exorbitant!!
Great video, you showcased Tassie ( my home state) beautifully. Autumn is the best time to visit here and such a lot of low cost and free camps which we also enjoy. Thank you for sharing. 😊
Thank you, glad you enjoyed the video.
Nicely summarised! It was great for me and Rowan to be able to share some time with you and Sally at a couple of your favourite Camp Sites.
We had a great time with both you and Rowan, always nice to break the idea of traveling by ourselves to have some time with good people.
Thanks Mick and Sally. Good honest review. Yes I agree the cost was quite good. Tasmania is a pretty place. Thanks for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it
Great video, thank you Mick and Sally
Our pleasure!
bloody brilliant video Mick as always, and once again im going to say that the videos you guys do, you should be getting paid by the local tourism departments! top stuff for one of my favorite place, will save this vid. (PS: fly fishing Mick... fly fishing...)👍
fly fishing is something that I have never seen done, looks like a developed art to know how to catch fish that way🐠🐠
Wonderful full stop to your amazingly beautiful and informative Tasmanian trip. 10 out of 10 from me 😊😊
Glad you liked it, thank you🙂
Ta Mick and Sally. Glad you had a great time and thanks for all the fabulous info.
Thanks🙂
Thanks Mick, good to know.
Cheers👍
Hi Mick & Sally - excellent summary on your Tasmania travels with places to go, camp place special and the costs wrapped up - tops Question in relation to heating in the van - do you have gas or diesel heating?
We have gas heating in our van👍
Thanks for that 👍 - can you advise why you picked gas against diesel? I am trying to appreciate the benefits of both - I would have thought you would have had diesel with the diesel LC. I have considered gas heating to keep the combustible materials to only 2 - I have an old 4.5 litre petrol engine , so carrying diesel for heating and having gas on board does not seem to make sense 🧐 Appreciate you thoughts - thanking you in advance- Raymond
@@raymondpaulet1683 we had the gas heater fitted possibly 8 to 10 years ago and at that stage I am not too sure if diesel heaters were even available back then, for some reason gas was the go. Gas heaters are more user friendly to others camped near you because of the reduced noise and smoke that is given off, particularly during the initial start up period. Gas heaters are now very expensive when compared to diesel heaters and the gas has to be fitted by a licensed gas fitter where the diesel heaters can be fitted by anyone. If we were to buy another caravan and there was an endless supply of money, we would go for a gas heater for sure. In saying that, with the cost of everything now a days, I don't really know which one I would now have fitted. We have never owned a caravan diesel heater so our knowledge is somewhat limited other than what we have seen and heard while around vans with either fitted. The need to keep fresh diesel in a small tank to run the heater with versus gas in a bottle makes the gas more user friendly to me.
Hello Mick & Sally Thank you for the great information on your situation- very much appreciate you comments about the choice of heater. I understand the fitting and pricing , being gas the dearer to install 🙄 against diesel I like the idea of less noise and smell with the gas, plus only travelling with 2 fuels ( petrol - car & gas for cooktops for us) The other thing I read was that gas is very efficient to operate 👍 A decision, will be biting the bullet and going for it 😬👍 Again , appreciate your comments on the selection and your travels around Australia Highest regards- All the best to you both Raymond
Great video again cheers 🍻safe travels 🙏
Glad you liked it, thanks🙂
Another great video Mick, very informative
Thanks, hopefully people will be able to relate to the cost to help those who want to do something similar.
So when you break that down it was approx $35 per head which is quite reasonable. It cost me around $1500 for 10 days & I thought that was worth it as it paid for accommodation, meals, traveling, admission price for various places we visited plus airfares to & from Sydney to Launceston. You were very fortunate to find 13 free campsites which was a great help to your costing, plus the other campsites seem very cheap in comparison to a lot of places on the mainland. Then you were blessed with a great season without too much rain etc to spoil your stay. Thank you for taking us along as I will be watching the videos again & probably again after that!! So much more interesting that just going through 2 very large albums of photos as I can almost smell some of the places as I watch your videos & it brings my trips more to life. So a very special thank you for that!! I am looking forward to your next adventures, in the meantime I hope that you are enjoying the wet weather coming your way as SA has been very dry as well whilst you were away taking advantage of the weather. Here in Sydney's west we are freezing with the very cold southerly wind coming up from the Antarctic!! It wouldn't be so bad if the electricity were only half the price it is today but those in the highlands are happy as they need the snow its bringing to bring the visitors!! Also many of them have wood fires!! 😂
We were very happy with the cost per day, we were not trying to do it entirely on the cheap but it did work out a lot less that what we had first allowed. We had heard that Tasmania was great for free and low cost camping, something that we found out to be correct. The weather was great for us while there, a result of it being so dry everywhere. It is very cold hear in Adelaide at the moment as it is in a lot of the mainland. Glad you enjoyed our trip videos, something that we will look back on for a very long time to come🙂
G'day Mick & Sally.🐨
Greetings🙂
Awsime videos what time of year was it that you did this trip to York Peninsula. Just trying to workout the best time to go. Don’t want it to be to busy or hot 😊
We were there late July and early August👍
Really enjoyed watching this roadshow comprehensive and although the music is quirky bit like the producer it fits the brief nicely. Thought the narrative was well paced easy to listen to and drone capture and quality of vision spot on both visual and editing One if not the best roadshow review on you tube well done nice 👍
Thank you for your comments👍. The music is a hard one to get right, hopefully the channel is getting better as time moves forward🙂.
My goodness, what a beautiful place!
There are some very nice spots down that way🙂
Hey Mick n Sally. Love your videos. We have a question. We are about to start doing an itinerary for a 3 month trip from Qld to SA n anything in between. Our question is.. what do you use to find the cheaper/free sites. And what s your setup for off grid. We also have a traveller van but no ensuite. Thanks in advance.
Other than listening to others while out on the road, we use WikiCamps to find out where all the good campsites are located. The app charges a once off fee when you first download it to your phone, but it is worth the cost. We have 2x 100amp Lithium batteries with 560 watts of solar on the roof as well as a portable 200 watt blanket which we hardly ever use. It may seem a lot of power but we hardly ever get below 60% in battery storage in any 24 hour period. Enjoy your trip to SA when you venture this way🙂
Parked up next to water Weather fresh or salty who cares its beautiful to get that nice spot 😍
For sure, or even an outback location that has a few bushes or trees isn't too bad either. No bricks and mortar is great anywhere 🙂
Really enjoyed your trip back home to SA, great memories from Tassie as well. Enjoy your break at home and looking forward to your next adventures. Bill Mc
Thanks so much!
You missed the snow and cold by 4 weeks.❤
The snow that we had while camped at Miena was enough for us, too cold🙂
Normal winter conditions then. The water isn't needed downstream and in a few months the snow will melt and refill the dam.
Yes it is all about forward thinking to prevent flooding down stream.
Your GPS certainly took you on many detours enroute home me (we) thinks🤣🤣 - I (we) were dizzy by the time u got to Loxton via G/ A and E (Y)!! Whew. Thanks Jan and Kam Toowoomba P S. new to Mick & Sally? Their Tassie vlogs are interesting/ informative and fun❤❤. This also applies to others on their ytube channel❤
the glory of not having to be home to go to work, we love our new found freedom.
Looking forward to the next❤
Cheers🙂
Another wonderful video. I envy your lifestyle. Once again, love the background piano music. Hope the growth on your back was a non-event. Looking forward to the next vid !
the growth on y back was nothing to worry about in the end, glad you enjoyed the video.👍
@JustCruisin with Mick and Sally. Just letting you know there is a third Ettamogah Pub with the third being in Queensland.
For some reason Sally did a google search and found out that there was more than the two that I had mentioned soon after I had put the video together, never too old to learn🙂
Great series, you've done Tasma IA proud,,thoroughly enjoyed the whole trip .😊
Thank you, we has a great time while in Tasmania, we will look back at our videos from time to time to relive our trip over there.
G'day Mick & Sally.🐨
Greetings🙂
There was also an Ettamogah Pub In the Sunshine Coast of Qld on the Bruce Hwy. It has now been changed to a different name.
Yes, I was unaware of that until I put the video together and it was then pointed out to me about there being more than the two Pubs.
The 4th Ettamogah Pub is at Kellyville Ridge NSW
@@frizzy60 great stuff, thank you🙂
the banana bender pub now ;-)
We travelled through that area last November there's some beautiful country out there. Heading back to Bright later this year so thanks for some great tips. Glad all went well, with the Doc's had a few myself removed. Stay safe.
The area was very pretty with the autumn colours about.
Just got back a week ago from doing the silos from Horsham up through the Mallee and back. Cool mornings, nice days and no rain with some awesome artwork..
There is a talent shown in a lot of the art works that have been done.
Too right , there are some talented artists getting about!
Thanks, enjoyed the whole series, Can't wait for next adventure, Cheers Bevan 🤠🦘🦘🇦🇺
Glad you enjoyed them, thanks👍
G'day Mick and Sally love your videos, qld sunshine Coast also has one of those pubs.cheers Tony Brisbane
Yes so I found out after I had done the video, one I wasn't aware of👍
We really enjoyed our time spent together. Glad you enjoyed your little taste of our beautiful part of Victoria. Look forward to having you back when the weir is full and the pastures green.
Thanks for your hospitality, we too are looking forward to a return trip at some stage.
Arriving home!! It always brings mixed feelings as one transfers their mind back to the mundane issues of life once again. I do hope that you found everything as it should be with no damage from storms etc whilst you were away. Then starts the unpacking of the van & the cleaning out before putting it away for the next trip. At least with the cold nights & short days, you can get in some snacks, curl up on the lounge & watch the replay of your Tasmanian trip on the big screen!! 😂
The unpacking and the cleaning, never something to look forward to.
Great video. There Mick, and I hope you do have a self trip home. Please do take care.
Thanks👍
Thank you. Nice and concise narration with beautiful and relaxing music. Great video! I'd better go to bed and start dreaming
It is a great trip as you cross that area.
Thoroughly enjoyed watching your series on Tassie. Lived here all my life but recently got a camler trailer so nice to see all the camling places. Glad you spent a good amount of time here, so many think you can see the state in a week or less.
Even after three months there are things that we still missed out on seeing, such a beautiful place to visit. We will plan another trip at some stage for sure.
Hi Mick and Sally Fantastic vid again. Great to see your lovely wife showing her face.. You're such a lovely couple.. Cheers Brett
Thank you, glad you enjoyed the video👍
I was going to stop to see the silo light show in Quorn but because we couldn't go on the train we just passed through the town. The town was amazing in the way it has been kept. I can see why the movies love it. We stayed 3 nights up in Wilpena pound. I heard a lot about Rawnsley Park. If I ever go back I'll give them a go
The Quorn light show is well worth the time to view as it details the history of the area without spending too much time on any one point. Wilpena Pound has a great campground, pity it is so expensive during the peak times. Rawnsley Park is your typical outback bush type camping with the availability of power hook up if you wish.
I just came back from 7 weeks touring around South Oz. I thought Laura was an amazing looking little town. South Oz does their old building really well. Wanted to do the Pichi Richi railway, changed my plans so I could get there on a weekend, and turns out that it was the only weekend they weren't running. So it was good to see your video of what I missed.
We too like Laura and what it has to offer. After doing some steam train rides in Tasmania, we feel that the Pichi Richi has that steam smell to it as you ride with the windows down if you wish, something that you can not do in Tassie. It is a chame that you were not able to ride the Pichi Richi while you were there.
travelled to darwin via THE GHAN stopped in alice for 2 weeks.
There is a lot to do and see in Alice and the immediate area around Alice.
camp site in MARA spent 2 weeks ther pub also plus post office.
It is a great area👍
Many thanks for sharing your trip to Tassie, really enjoyable and relaxing to watch! Bill Mc
Thank you, glad you enjoyed the videos👍
Hey, well done guys! You made it to some of the prettiest spots in our neck of the woods. Shame it was a bit murky at Port Sorell. You could have stayed right on the beach there - or even at ours, as you were off grid! The spot at Latrobe is really only for emergencies, but handy for good cheese and meat! Emu Valley is worth noting is completely Volunteer funded & run and is an amazing credit to those people who give so freely of their time & creativity. The Arboretum is very pretty in Spring & Fall and well worth visiting - now, both sites, if you are not so able-bodied can be accessed by careful drivers (not with caravans!) as there are corners you might not reach on foot. The drive around Mt Roland is worth doing on a sunny day, and for adventurous sorts there are trails to the top. There's an interesting day trip along the Don River, Walls of Jerusalem, and Devils Gulch for more adventures... Gradually catching up with your videos, you did have a good look around the state, but a ton more for next time -Oct/Nov for Spring! Safe travels and thank you.
We were very happy with what we did see while there, such a beautiful island to visit. We are well and truly prepared to fill in the gaps for what to see when we are next there.
